Enter the Conversational Cart
In 2020, Gartner articulated the concept of Composable Commerce. In a nutshell, Composable Commerce allows you to assemble an ecommerce experience using the best of breed, API-based tools for your use case. We strongly believe in this concept - it allows our clients to both buy and build solutions for their customers. Engineering teams are able to focus on building the truly differentiating parts of an application, and the business can deliver more value for customers. Leveraging an LLM to orchestrate a user experience is a great example of building a feature that sets your brand apart and seamlessly integrates it into a composable commerce ecosystem.
Given our devotion to the composable commerce concept, our reference implementation starts with the best of breed SaaS commerce API: commercetools. Using AWS tools and a thin cloud-based orchestration layer, we integrate with ChatGPT to infer the intent of the user. The resulting conversational interface unlocks the ability for a customer to search for products, refine search results and modify their shopping cart.
